{"id":39377,"date":"2021-06-03T19:57:34","date_gmt":"2021-06-03T08:57:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/anglesea-covid-19-sites-to-be-stood-down-after-false-positives\/"},"modified":"2021-06-03T20:16:00","modified_gmt":"2021-06-03T09:16:00","slug":"anglesea-covid-false-positives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/anglesea-covid-false-positives\/","title":{"rendered":"Anglesea COVID-19 sites to be stood down after false positives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE four sites in Anglesea announced yesterday (Wednesday, June 2) as public exposure sites to COVID-19 will be stood down after two cases linked to this outbreak were found to be false positives.<\/p>\n<p>According to a release from the Department of Health earlier this evening (Thursday, June 3), retesting by the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Authority has reclassified the two instances &#8211; a woman previously understood to have acquired the virus at a Metricon display home, and a man previously understood to have acquired the virus at the Brighton Beach Hotel &#8211; as no longer confirmed cases of coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Primary close contacts who are linked only to these cases and not to other exposure sites will be released.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Any exposure sites linked only to these cases will be stood down, including every exposure site in Anglesea.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The four sites are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>May 25, 6-7.30pm \u2013 Anglesea Golf Club Bistro (Tier 1)<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"pq6dq46d tbxw36s4 knj5qynh kvgmc6g5 ditlmg2l oygrvhab nvdbi5me sf5mxxl7 gl3lb2sf hhz5lgdu\">May<\/span>\u00a025, 9.20-9.35am \u2013 Anglesea Landfill and Transfer Station (Tier 2)<\/li>\n<li>May 25, 10.30-11.15am \u2013 IGA Anglesea (Tier 2)<\/li>\n<li>May 27, 10.15-11am \u2013 IGA Anglesea (Tier 2)<\/li>\n<li>May 27, 10.30-11am \u2013 Oaks Bakery Caf\u00e9 (87 Great Ocean Road, Anglesea) (Tier 2)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The affected venues must await formal clearance from the Department of Health or a local Public Health Unit, which will occur throughout this evening.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on its Facebook page, Barwon Health said anyone now in quarantine in relation to one of the Anglesea sites would be notified of this today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We thank the business owners, and community of Anglesea for their co-operation and patience in helping keep the community safe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you have been tested today please remain in isolation until you receive your negative test result.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As always, please remember to get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms, and comply with current public health measures and restrictions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE four sites in Anglesea announced yesterday (Wednesday, June 2) as public exposure sites to COVID-19 will be stood down after two cases linked to this outbreak were found to be false positives.
