THE two public exposure sites to COVID-19 in North Geelong announced on the weekend were downgraded yesterday (Monday, June 14) by the Department of Health, and people who visited the venues on May 22 no longer need to be tested for coronavirus.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, the Department of Health alerted Barwon Health to the exposure sites on May 22 at The Sphinx Hotel between 2.20-3.45pm and The Geelong Arena on May 22 between 6.37-9.23pm<\/p>\n
Both sites were classified as Tier 2, which meant people who attended either venue during that time must get tested and isolate until they received a negative result:<\/p>\n
Both sites have since been removed from the Department of Health’s online listing of existing public exposure sites, which show places that either had confirmed cases visit during their infectious period or are sites where a confirmed case may have acquired their infection.<\/p>\n
In a statement on their Facebook page, Barwon Health thanked the community for coming forward and getting tested over the weekend, and to all testing staff for their hard work.<\/p>\n
“We ask everyone to continue to monitor for symptoms and get tested if symptoms develop.”<\/p>\n
