THE DEDICATED and determined Humans in Geelong volunteers are \u201cliving in hope\u201d with multiple plans for their free 2021 community expo next month.<\/p>\n
Humans founder Jacqui Bennett said the organisation had several plans in place and an online version of the expo would proceed via YouTube on Sunday, October 10, regardless of COVID restrictions.<\/p>\n
She said Humans in Geelong (HuG) also hoped to hold an \u201cin person\u201d event on the same day at the Deakin Waterfront campus with a huge line-up of entertainers, speakers and activities.<\/p>\n
Jacqui said the community was \u201ccrying out for an opportunity to connect and celebrate\u201d and the expo would provide that much-needed opportunity.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are living in hope. Hope that the Humans in Geelong Expo 2021 can proceed,\u201d Jacqui said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere will be colourful live performances, uplifting speakers, informative exhibitors, artists from our region and lots of fun in the courtyard for the kids.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpeakers include the enormously popular Princess Aspien and The Streets Barber.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Sweethearts and many multicultural dance groups will be performing; there will be face painting, henna, making wooden toys and crafts in the courtyard.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf numbers of attendees are limited due to restrictions, we have a backup date for the in-person event for Sunday ,December 5th.\u201d<\/p>\n
The program also includes the With One Voice Choir led by Kym Dillon, Wild Moves Drumming, the launch of Mental Health Week, a Spoken Word Extravaganza and an insight into the endangered Yellow Bellied Parrot with Craig Morley.<\/p>\n
