<\/p>\nGEELONG Arts Centre has announced it will present a second series of its successful Artists Accelerate program which provides free online professional development for creatives.<\/p>\n
The series of three 45-minute sessions will feature some of the industry\u2019s most talented and respected industry leaders sharing the insights, tips and tools that underpin their practices.<\/p>\n
The sessions, held via Zoom on Thursday afternoons at 4.30pm, will focus on:<\/p>\n
\u2022 How Access Can Unlock New Aesthetics with actor, writer and director Kate Hood (September 30)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Writing About Yourself and Your Practice with multi-form writer Emilie Collyer (October 28), and<\/p>\n
\u2022 Participation and Co-Creation in Live Performance hosted by Wiradjuri artist and choreographer Joel Bray (December 2).<\/p>\n

An opportunity for Q&A will be available at the end of each session.<\/p>\n
GAC creative director and CEO Joel McGuinness said the inspirational professional development sessions were specifically created for artists looking for efficient, effective and engaging ways to further develop their skills.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are delighted to be able to again facilitate the sharing of knowledge between artists irrespective of their location, and to give creatives the opportunity to connect meaningfully with mentors and like-minded peers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt a time when coming together physically is simply not possible, it feels particularly poignant to be able to offer creatives an online space in which to be guided so that they may continue to develop their own artistic practice.\u201d<\/p>\n
Penny McCabe, senior producer at GAC, said each session would offer insights which were transferrable across a broad range of art forms.<\/p>\n
\u201cFollowing the success of last year\u2019s Artists Accelerate program, we are proud to provide our arts community with an opportunity to learn from such a diverse range of professional artists,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
All events in the Geelong Arts Centre Creative Engine Artists Accelerate professional development series are free, but registration is essential.<\/p>\n
