THE COMPLETION of Stage one of the Geelong Waterfront Safe Harbour Precinct Master Plan has created the need for a new lease with the Royal Geelong Yacht Club.<\/p>\n
The City of Greater Geelong is also proposing into enter new leases with the Geelong Regional Library Corporation and the contractors who will operate the Geelong Resource and Recovery Centre.<\/p>\n
Under the City\u2019s engagement policy, the community has an opportunity to view the leases and have their say on the proposed agreements before they are signed off.<\/p>\n
The significant improvements at the Geelong Waterfront, including the new wave attenuator and marina extension, triggered the need to replace existing leases in place with the yacht club.<\/p>\n
The proposed new lease is for a maximum term of 21 years for the existing and additional parts of Crown land reserves, and the community has until October 29 to provide feedback.<\/p>\n
Community engagement also closes on October 29 for the new lease with GRLC so they can continue to use office space on level four of the Geelong Library Heritage Centre for five years and a new lease with GPP Industries Limited to use the site to manage and operate the North Geelong resource recovery centre for the next five years.<\/p>\n
A report on each engagement process and submissions received will go back to the council for consideration before the City enters into the three proposed leases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
