THE Great Australian Beer Festival (GABF) is getting ready to roll out the barrel in Geelong next year, with presale registrations opening and tickets to be released in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
Returning to Johnstone Park on January 15, the annual event was cancelled in 2021 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, but festival director Kieran Blood said he and the GABF team were inspired to deliver the festival in 2022.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are working hard behind the scenes to ensure GABF 2022 is the best and brightest yet.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith a new partnership with the BeerFest Australia brand, we have a team that have already delivered six successful COVID Safe events.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe can\u2019t wait to see you all sipping, sampling and socialising again!\u201d<\/p>\n
GABF celebrates the Geelong region\u2019s burgeoning beer industry with a smorgasbord of artisan brews from across the Geelong, Bellarine, Surf Coast and Otway regions.<\/p>\n
It is the only opportunity to find all these local brewers in one place, alongside some of Australia\u2019s finest breweries and producers.<\/p>\n
While beer lovers are in for a treat, there will also be a selection of wines, seltzers, gins and cocktails from local distilleries along with food trucks serving up barbecue meats, Geelong\u2019s best burgers and more.<\/p>\n
In 2022, GABF will take on a new format across two sessions.<\/p>\n
There will be limited tickets available for each session with heaps of space to move, taste and groove.<\/p>\n
The day session will run from 11am-4pm with free masterclasses, activities for the kids and the best opportunity to mingle with the brains behind the brews, plus entertainment from The Badloves, The Settlement, and local act the Violas.<\/p>\n
The evening session will run from 5-10pm with Geelong\u2019s own Piano bar, roving cabaret performers and live music featuring Art vs Science, The Fulton Street Band, Pirateska Rebellion, and local act Immy Owusu.<\/p>\n
