{"id":42951,"date":"2021-12-01T04:00:06","date_gmt":"2021-11-30T17:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=42951"},"modified":"2021-12-01T08:55:47","modified_gmt":"2021-11-30T21:55:47","slug":"adventure-park-ending-2021-bigger-and-better-than-ever","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/adventure-park-ending-2021-bigger-and-better-than-ever\/","title":{"rendered":"Adventure Park ending 2021 bigger and better than ever"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>VICTORIA\u2019S most exciting family-friendly water theme park is gearing up for a big return this summer with exciting new features and expansions accessible to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The list of new features at Adventure Park available until March 27, 2022, include two new rides, nine new cabanas and new family change amenities.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be the addition of a new tube conveyor for the Tsunami and Tornado waterslides.<\/p>\n<p>Adventure Park managing director Leanne Salmon said she was excited about opening the tube conveyor this year because of the significant impact it would have on visitors\u2019 ride experience for the upcoming season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know how much our guests have wanted a tube conveyor and we\u2019re excited to have completed this development in our big waterslide precinct that\u2019s been in planning for the past couple of years,\u201d Ms Salmon said.<\/p>\n<p>The tubes used by riders for the massive Tsunami and Tornado waterslides will now travel up to the top of the tower via the newly constructed conveyor belt, making it more accessible for younger riders to participate according to the park.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 696px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/11\/APTsunami-Tornado_28064.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Two of the longstanding attractions at Adventure Park, the Tsunami and the Tornado rides, both of which are outfitted with a new conveyor belt for the tubes that visitors sit in.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Amongst the new rides for this season are the classic Tea Cups that are well-known around the world with families for their spinning and kaleidoscopic tea cups.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a unique Air Balloon ride which sees riders soar 18m into the sky for an epic view of the park before floating back down to earth.<\/p>\n<p>Nine brand new two-storey deluxe Treetop Cabanas will be available for hire in peak summer season.<\/p>\n<p>Each cabana will feature a roof top deck, TV, fridge and dining voucher for the ultimate VIP package, located at the Tsunami and Tornado waterslides with 360-degree views overlooking the park.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s bigger and better than ever in 2021,\u201d Ms Salmon said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been a challenging couple of years with COVID, but we\u2019ve gotten through it with a great team of staff who have made it all happen despite the circumstances.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The park has also expanded its Christmas Festival of Lights with another 700,000 lights over its extended lights trail.
