	{"id":43542,"date":"2021-12-28T01:32:46","date_gmt":"2021-12-27T14:32:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=43542"},"modified":"2021-12-23T16:41:44","modified_gmt":"2021-12-23T05:41:44","slug":"music-gigs-get-back-on-the-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/music-gigs-get-back-on-the-road\/","title":{"rendered":"Music gigs get back on the road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LIVE music is coming back across Melbourne and regional Victoria, with the state government supporting a calendar of more than 300 events across the state.<\/p>\n<p>On the Road Again is a $9 million initiative being brought to life through 34 grants to individuals and groups, including regional venues, promoters and artists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Local music performances and events supported by the initiative include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jack Botts at the Torquay Hotel on January 2<\/li>\n<li>Tex Perkins and Matt Walker at the Queenscliff Town Hall on January 15<\/li>\n<li>Bad Bangs, Sledgehammer and Sires at the Barwon Club Hotel on January 28<\/li>\n<li>Pierce Brothers at Birregurra Hall on February 12<\/li>\n<li>ThornBird at the Queenscliff Town Hall on March 11, and<\/li>\n<li>Julia Jacklin at the Queenscliff Town Hall on April 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other artists on the bill for Victorian gigs include Baker Boy, Emma Donovan and The Putbacks, Isaiah Firebrace, Kaiit, Gordi and Music in Exile.<\/p>\n<p>The state\u2019s music festivals are also set to roar back to life, with Ocean Sounds in Phillip Island and Gaytimes Festival in Gembrook some of the exciting attractions Victorians can enjoy this summer.<\/p>\n<p>A 20-date youth music calendar of events will also provide live music for younger audiences.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62655\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62655\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-62655 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/surfcoasttimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2021\/12\/2b_61570-1-600x380.jpeg?_t=1640237730\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62655\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pierce Brothers will play in Birregurra in February.
