Backyard fun, trips to the park and summer days at the beach \u2013 Simon and Jami Robinson are reaping the rewards of making the lifestyle switch from Melbourne to Lara, with their young family.<\/p>\n
The past 12 months has been a whirlwind for the Robinsons after they secured a much sought-after lot in Bisinella\u2019s Apple Gum\u2019s Estate in October 2020.<\/p>\n
The couple started building straight away and in September 2021 they got the keys to their three-bedroom home.<\/p>\n
The lure of the coast, proximity to family and the chance to get away from the busyness of Melbourne were all contributing factors to their decision to relocate down the highway.<\/p>\n
Since making the move, the couple has been enjoying their new home and community and exploring the region with their three young daughters, Ellie, 4, Milla, 2 and Olivia, six months.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic \u2013 we are really happy, Lara ticks all the boxes for us,\u201d Mr Robinson explained.\u201cWe wanted to live somewhere with a smaller town feel but still close to everything, we are rapt to have our own space.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving such a young family we were keen to get away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe chose Lara because we are close to family in Geelong and the beaches but are still on the right side of Geelong so I can get to work in Melbourne easily.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we go the other way, in 35 minutes we are in Barwon Heads, Torquay, Anglesea \u2013 it\u2019s amazing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe utilise the beach a lot with the young girls and the You Yangs are close by too.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Robinson said the family was also embracing their community and enjoying meeting other families.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll of the facilities that we need are here, I\u2019ve been working in Sydney, and I can fly straight into Avalon which is only about 12 minutes from our house.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Robinsons recently had a solar system installed on their roof \u2013 becoming the first household to take advantage of Bisinella\u2019s $1000 solar panel rebate.<\/p>\n
Bisinella is offering the rebate to buyers who purchase a lot in relevant Bisinella estates and install solar panels within three months of construction completion (conditions apply). The couple said their decision to go solar was inspired by environmental factors but mainly the opportunity to reduce their energy costs.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs we are a single income household at the moment, we are trying to minimise our expenses wherever we can,\u201d Mr Robinson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Bisinella rebate was the tipping point for us going ahead with solar, without this initiative, solar simply wouldn\u2019t have been affordable for us.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe rebate means we will be able to pay off the solar system a lot quicker, reduce our expenses and not be so reliant on the power supply.\u201d<\/p>\n
The initiative is available for other landowners who have bought in the sold-out Apple Gum Estate as well as Wattle Grove Estate, Corio and meet the rebate conditions.<\/p>\n
The solar rebate is also available for buyers of land in Stage 4 of Seaside Estate and 3B and 5 of Lara Lakes Estate, which is due to be released in early 2022.<\/p>\n
Bisinella director Richard Bisinella said he was delighted the Robinsons were getting so much enjoyment out of their new home and being part of the wider Lara community.<\/p>\n
