	{"id":44671,"date":"2022-02-26T04:15:33","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T17:15:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=44671"},"modified":"2022-02-22T16:02:16","modified_gmt":"2022-02-22T05:02:16","slug":"still-here-now-closes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/living\/still-here-now-closes\/","title":{"rendered":"Still Here, Now exhibition closes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <em>Still Here, Now<\/em> exhibition has wrapped up at Geelong&#8217;s Platform Arts with a night of music and performance.<\/p>\n<p>The First Nations-curated exhibition, which opened on January 18, was led by Gunditjmara Keerray Wooroong women and Koorroyarr Arts founders, Tarryn Love and Kelsey Love, alongside Naarm-based artist and researcher Jahkarli Romanis and Amber Smith of Platform Arts.<\/p>\n<p>Closing night, held on Friday last week, presented a range of live First Nations activities, including a Welcome to Country and smoking ceremony, didgeridoo from Norm Stanley, spoken word performances, and food provided by Indigenous-owned business Cooee Catering.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_44681\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-44681\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-44681\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-19-2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-19-2.png 600w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/02\/Untitled-design-19-2-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-44681\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Geelong MP Christine Couzens (left) with artists<br \/>Tarryn Love, Kelsey Love and Jahkarli Romanis.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><em>Still Here, Now<\/em> captured what it means to be \u201cstill here, now\u201d from a First Nations ancestral perspective.
