The course has been beautifully presented and it\u2019s great to see all the mums and dads in their respective schools\u2019 marquees cheer on their daughters\u2019 as they race down the river.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is the most unique regatta in the world. Nowhere else will you find a female school regatta, over three days with races every three minutes and it\u2019s still growing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 749px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/03\/IMG_0030GilrsFromCl_32529.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"749\" height=\"499\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Girls from Clarendon walk back to the main action after docking their boat.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The regatta has been held in Geelong on the Barwon River since 1987 and injects around $2.5 million into the local economy each year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to working closely with the Head of the Schoolgirls Committee and our partners the City of Greater Geelong, Corangamite Catchment Management Authority and Rowing Victoria to making sure the regatta stays in Geelong, on the Barwon River well beyond 2024,\u201d Elliott added.<\/p>\n<p>In the main races the Female School Eight Open Division 1 was hotly contested between Melbourne schools\u2019 St Catherine\u2019s School and Melbourne Girls Grammar School with St Catherine\u2019s winning in the narrowest of margins.<\/p>\n<p>Local Geelong College sculler Issy Batrouney took out the Female School Single Open Division 1 in a very dominant display over SEDA College Geelong rower Zara Kfouri.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 756px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/03\/IMG_0007_47515.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"756\" height=\"505\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Barwon River was shoulder-to-shoulder with spectators.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Locals Geelong Grammar School took out the Female School Eight Open Division 2 in a commanding display over St Catherine\u2019s School.
