Photo: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt was always going to be on the cards but it\u2019s pretty sad, there was a lot of blood sweat and tears that went into it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe always understood that Merivale do their own thing, their own concepts,\u201d he added, stressing that there were no hard feelings between the two.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Camorra said it\u2019s not the end of MoVida in the region, he\u2019s currently looking for other opportunities in Geelong, saying \u201cwatch this space\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Restaurant Coda is unaffected at this stage as it sits above the ground floor redevelopment area, though it\u2019s understood staged refurbishments of the venue\u2019s upper floors are planned.<\/p>\n<p>Merivale purchased the famous seaside venue from previous owners the Upham family for $38 million last year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A PLANNED groundfloor redevelopment of the Lorne Hotel by new owners Merivale will see the permanent closure of restaurant MoVida in three months.
