Photo: PEARL PHOTOGRAPHY GEELONG<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Events manager from Kids Plus Sharon Gibbons said this year&#8217;s event was a huge success, with a record number of registrations and a festive feel at the finish line.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a brilliant day, a massive success,&#8221; Ms Gibbons said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We had a few people have to pull out because of COVID so numbers were down but the spirits were up, especially at the finish line.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everyone was so positive and happy to be out and be together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re on track to meet our target of 250 grand raised, and we just hit 200 grand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ms Gibbons said a highlight of the day was a record racer finishing the 40km trek in five hours and 25 minutes.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_45689\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-45689\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-45689 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/04\/weirdly-sized-image-5-copy-600x380.png?_t=1649209587\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/04\/weirdly-sized-image-5-copy.png 600w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/04\/weirdly-sized-image-5-copy-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-45689\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Photo: PEARL PHOTOGRAPHY GEELONG<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>All funds raised by the event will be split evenly between Kids Plus and The Give Where You Live Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Kids Plus works with paediatric allied health therapy and support services to support kids with cerebral palsy and similar neurological conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The Give Where You Live Foundation works with the community&#8217;s most vulnerable to improve equity and address local disadvantage.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_45693\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-45693\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-45693 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/04\/weirdly-sized-image-5-1-600x380.png?_t=1649209891\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/04\/weirdly-sized-image-5-1.png 600w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/04\/weirdly-sized-image-5-1-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-45693\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">All funds raised will be split evenly between the two Geelong-based non-profit organisations.
