People can make a financial donation where $50 will provide support for a mum who might be affected by violence, family breakdown, at risk of homelessness, or living in poverty.<\/p>\n
Donors can get together a toiletry bag by dropping off a toiletry bag filled with new and unopened toiletries. Some ideas include a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and soap.<\/p>\n
Those looking to give can also make a donation in lieu of a Mother\u2019s Day present or organise a Mother\u2019s Day fundraising event collecting donations for the Make A Mother\u2019s Day campaign.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur team of volunteers and staff are certainly looking forward to a somewhat normal year and to coming together again for our Mother\u2019s Day Lunch,\u201d Ms Holdaway said.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, many of the people supported by Geelong Mums will still not experience a normal Mother\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n
\u201cMany are dealing with challenges such as homelessness, family violence or simply struggling to put food on the table.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe support they receive from Geelong Mums may be the only present they receive and will mean a lot during a challenging time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Geelong Mums managed to keep its doors open and, last year alone, supported more than 19,000 babies and children across Victoria.<\/p>\n
The Geelong Mums Mother\u2019s Day Lunch is also scheduled to take place tomorrow (Friday, May 6) at Mt Duneed Estate.<\/p>\n
