COLAC needed overtime to get past South Barwon 54-52 in a thrilling opening to the GNL finals series yesterday (Saturday, August 27) in Geelong West.<\/p>\n
The seesaw affair had fans captivated on West Oval\u2019s Court 1 over all four quarter regulation quarters, and then into two overtime periods.<\/p>\n
Deadlocked at 45-45, both teams had an opportunity to nab the first Qualifying Final win, but an extra goal in favour of Colac through both overtime terms saw the \u00a0Tigers win by two goals in what can only be classified as a GNL classic.<\/p>\n
The Winch sisters remained strong for Colac as Michelle Winch\u2019s 41 goals and Bec Winch\u2019s 13 provided the catalyst up the scoring end.<\/p>\n
Geelong Cougars players Brooke Allan and Zara Walters were strong for the Tigers receiving best-on-court mentions alongside Michelle.<\/p>\n
