{"id":58762,"date":"2022-09-27T04:00:23","date_gmt":"2022-09-26T18:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=58762"},"modified":"2022-09-21T10:30:51","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T00:30:51","slug":"coker-to-chair-inquiry-into-ndia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/coker-to-chair-inquiry-into-ndia\/","title":{"rendered":"Coker to chair inquiry into NDIA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Joint Standing Committee on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) will inquire into the capability and culture of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).<\/p>\n<p>Corangamite federal member Libby Coker will chair the committee.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The inquiry into the NDIA is in addition to the committee&#8217;s ongoing responsibility to inquire into the implementation, performance, governance, administration and expenditure of the NDIS,&#8221; Ms Coker said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The committee has recently called for submissions from the community in relation to both inquiries. We look forward to receiving the community&#8217;s contributions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As well as public hearings, the inquiry will also travel to locations across the nation, including regional areas.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The committee is inquiring into the NDIA based on publicly aired community concerns about aspects of the NDIA&#8217;s service delivery,&#8221; Ms Coker said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There has been a deterioration in the level of participants&#8217; trust in the system. It is important we restore trust.
