Photos: JAMES TAYLOR<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Starting at the corner of Garden and Brougham streets, the parade travelled along Brougham Street to Moorabool Street, turned right into &#8220;Premiership Way&#8221; and right again along Eastern Beach Road towards Steampacket Gardens, where a civic reception was held for the players.<\/p>\n<p>Cr Murrihy said the Premiership Way sign would be in place for about 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s really to acknowledge what the team has done &#8211; a premiership &#8211; so it&#8217;s Premiership Way.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He said Geelong&#8217;s win had lifted the mood of the city immensely, both before and after the game.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s been unbelievable. Even in the lead-up to the game, you could feel the vibe of the place; really up and about.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Grand Final Day was extraordinary, there was just excitement about the city.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And then of course, yesterday, at the family day at the St Mary&#8217;s Oval, thousands of people attended, people were up and about &#8211; it&#8217;s really exciting to be in Geelong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_59447\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-59447\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-59447 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/09\/DSC_4538_29364-1-600x380.jpg?_t=1664257576\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-59447\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The sign was in place for about 48 hours.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cr Murrihy said the town&#8217;s economy, especially its hospitality venues, was also getting a boost.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s just a great feel.
