{"id":62129,"date":"2022-11-26T04:05:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-25T17:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=62129"},"modified":"2022-11-24T13:33:14","modified_gmt":"2022-11-24T02:33:14","slug":"crowded-house-rock-mt-duneed-estate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/crowded-house-rock-mt-duneed-estate\/","title":{"rendered":"Crowded House rock Mt Duneed Estate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LIKE the headline act&#8217;s song, fans had four seasons in one day as Crowded House finally made it to Geelong after a COVID-imposed delay.<\/p>\n<p>The legendary New Zealand band was originally supposed to appear at Mt Duneed Estate in April as part of the A Day on the Green concert series, but were forced to postpone the gig after frontman Neil Finn tested positive to COVID-19 less than a week beforehand.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_85634\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-85634\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-85634\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/ANGUSANDJULIASTONEP_26598.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"428\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-85634\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Angus and Julia Stone.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Geelong show &#8211; one of the final four dates on the Australian leg of the Dreamers Are Waiting tour &#8211; went ahead on Saturday, with Crowded House headlining the bill with support from The Waifs, Angus and Julia Stone, and Maistrato.<\/p>\n<p>Crowded House&#8217;s Australian tour followed their 2021 New Zealand tour during which they played to full houses, rapturous audiences and universal critical acclaim, and was their first national Australian tour since 2010 and only their third Australian tour during the past 15 years.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_85641\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-85641\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-85641\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/MAISTRATOPICCREDITS_64861.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"396\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-85641\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Maistrato.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Saturday&#8217;s show was also the 500th A Day on the Green concert presented by Roundhouse Entertainment over the past 21 years.<\/p>\n<p>A big crowd filled Mt Duneed Estate as conditions changed from clear, to overcast, to rainy, to muddy over the course of the day.<\/p>\n<p>The heavy conditions and sodden ground led organisers in the lead-up to advise only four-wheel drives could be parked at the site.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_85643\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-85643\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-85643\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/THEWAIFSPICCREDITSH_09052.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"401\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-85643\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Waifs.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Several dozen cars were still stuck in the mud at Mt Duneed Estate the following morning, and were assisted out by local farmers using their tractors over the course of Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>A Day on the Green&#8217;s next concert at Mt Duneed Estate will be The Killers on December 10.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LIKE the headline act&#8217;s song, fans had four seasons in one day as Crowded House finally made it to Geelong after a COVID-imposed delay.
