THE Anglesea Golf Club has elected its first female president in the club’s more than seven-decade history.<\/p>\n
Last month, in a well-attended election, Jules Rolfe was elected president of the club into 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n
Rolfe is a keen golfer and lives locally.<\/p>\n
“I am delighted to have Jules take over the reins here at Anglesea,” outgoing president Mike Grossman said.<\/p>\n
“She has previous experience on our board and also worked as a chief executive officer and director in the not-for-profit sector before retiring.”<\/p>\n
Rolfe’s term is for two years and she will be working with present board members Geoff Hose, Neville Henderson and Peter Wagner.<\/p>\n
Last month’s meeting saw Marg McCarthy join as a newly elected director, and an additional woman director will also be nominated.<\/p>\n
Rolfe is optimistic about the future of the club.<\/p>\n
“The golf club is in a sound financial position, and I am looking forward to working with the board and manager, David Sanders, and course superintendent, Brett Balloch,” she said.<\/p>\n
“We have a number of initiatives under way, including completion of the townhouse project, planning tree re-vegetation on the course and developing junior golf.”<\/p>\n
Anglesea Golf Club welcomes new members and green fee players as well as visitors to the kangaroo tours, bistro, driving range and mini-golf.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
