CHRISTMAS is days away, and Services Australia has reminded customers about changes to payments and services during the next few weeks.<\/p>\n

Announced last week, the changes include the closure of all services centres and most phone lines on Monday, December 26 (Boxing Day) through to Wednesday, December 28, as well as on January 2, 2023.<\/p>\n

Services Australia general manager Hank Jongen said Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support customers could still get access to self-service options during this time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe easiest way to do your business during the holiday season is with your online accounts through myGov, as well as the Express Plus apps, or our self-service options over the phone.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese services are available 24\/7, even on public holidays.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis means people can still report their employment income, submit claims, or apply for an advance payment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Customers should also be aware the date they receive their regular payments may change.<\/p>\n

“We have special arrangements in place for national public holidays. Some people may get paid early and others may be able to report their employment income early,\u201d Mr Jongen said.<\/p>\n

“People can check if their reporting or payment date has changed using their Centrelink online account through myGov, or through the Express Plus Centrelink mobile app.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know reporting early can be tricky, but my top tip is don\u2019t worry. If you make a mistake, you can correct it within 14 days, or the next time you report.\u201d<\/p>\n

Critical services for Medicare providers, such as PBS authorities and organ donor, remain available over this period.<\/p>\n
