98 The Esplanade, Torquay sold for an undisclosed figure this week, with the fee understood to be well above the $5.8 million splashed down the road at 189 The Esplanade early last year.<\/p>\n
The most recent sale had been advertised for $7.75 million-$7.95 million when its campaign launched during spring last year.<\/p>\n

McCartney Real Estate director Tim Carson said the eventual buyer from regional Victoria stumped up a price that was “not too far away” from the listed price in a result that satisfied all parties.<\/p>\n
“The interest we had on the place was pretty good, but it was always going to be a special sort of buyer that was going to be successful.<\/p>\n
“In my opinion it’s the best place in Torquay, if not along the Surf Coast.”<\/p>\n
Mr Carson said he had walked through about a dozen prospective buyers to inspect the coastal gem in recent months.<\/p>\n
The property is directly across the road from Fishermans Beach at the corner of Darian Road, providing a location that is as enviable as its architecture.<\/p>\n
