LOCAL foodies have the opportunity to hear from celebrity chefs and authors Adrian Richardson and Matthew Evans at Tastes of Central Geelong festival later this month.<\/p>\n

The festival, on from Thursday, March 23, to Sunday, April 02, will showcase the region’s food and hospitality offerings, with organisers saying this year’s event will be the biggest to date.<\/p>\n

As co-headliners of Tastes of Central Geelong, award winning chef Adrian Richardson will host an afternoon tea function at The Pier, while chef, farmer and food activist Matthew Evans will host an intimate Q and A session at The Geelong Library and Heritage Centre.<\/p>\n

The Geelong’s Bake Off competition will return this year and will be joined by a series of other engagements including a beer Hop-A-Long festival, cannoli piping workshop, live painting and an urban cocktail trail.<\/p>\n

City of Greater Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said Tastes of Central Geelong festival will indulgence to everyone’s senses.<\/p>\n

“Our celebrity chefs Adrian Richardson and Matthew Evans will bring a wealth of knowledge to our region about delicious home cooking, growing your own food and where produce comes from,” Cr Sullivan said.<\/p>\n

“We guarantee that there will be something for every palette and you won’t have to go far to taste a special new dish, learn a kitchen trick, find a hidden gem and connect with fellow foodies.”<\/p>\n

Brownbill Ward Councillor Melissa Cadwell said the festival would give people a chance explore new places and discover the very best of what Geelong has to offer.<\/p>\n

“This year’s program showcases our region’s food and wine credentials and encourages community members to support local cafes, restaurants and suppliers,” Cr Cadwell said.<\/p>\n

“Delight the senses and sample the very best sweet and savory cuisine at Tastes of Central Geelong \u2013 you won’t be disappointed!”<\/p>\n
