{"id":66547,"date":"2023-03-10T16:21:12","date_gmt":"2023-03-10T05:21:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=66547"},"modified":"2023-03-10T16:21:12","modified_gmt":"2023-03-10T05:21:12","slug":"tottis-opens-at-lorne-hotel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/living\/tottis-opens-at-lorne-hotel\/","title":{"rendered":"Totti&#8217;s opens at Lorne Hotel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SYDNEY hospitality giant Merivale is opening its first-ever Victorian venue tomorrow (Saturday, March 11) \u2014 at the Lorne Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>The 150-year-old pub will mark the fifth outpost of Italian eatery Totti&#8217;s, after four successful openings in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>At the helm of Totti&#8217;s Lorne is Surf Coast local and executive chef Matt Germanchis, supported by the expertise of Merivale&#8217;s executive chef and creator of Totti&#8217;s Mike Eggert.<\/p>\n<p>Germanchis&#8217; impressive resume includes working in some of Melbourne&#8217;s most prestigious kitchens, including Pei Modern, Movida, The Press Club and Pandora.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016, Germanchis moved to the Surf Coast to open his seafood-centric diner Captain Moonlite and its offshoot, Fish by Moonlite in Anglesea.<\/p>\n<p>Eggert said Merivale was thrilled to be leaning on Germanchis&#8217; local knowledge to get Totti&#8217;s Lorne up and running.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve crafted a menu that combines Matt&#8217;s expertise in local seafood with classic Totti&#8217;s dishes allowing you to pick and choose depending on your mood \u2013 whether that&#8217;s a bite to eat after a day at the beach alongside a glass of local wine or a selection of dishes for a long afternoon with friends and family.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_95570\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-95570\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-95570 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/03\/weirdly-sized-image-2023-03-09T115528.601-600x380.png?_t=1678323337\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-95570\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ziti, scallop alla vodka &amp; Campanelle, milk-braised pork &amp; chilli.
