A GROUP of trailblazing locals have attended the official launch of the 2023 City of Greater Geelong Community Leadership Program, an interactive course that will aim to support them as emerging leaders of the local community.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, participants attended an introductory meeting to signalise the start of the nine-month interactive experience which will provide personal and professional growth.<\/p>\n
According to the City, the Community Leadership Program will enhance participants knowledge and understanding of Geelong, connect them with like-minded peers and equip participants with the tools to enhance their leadership capabilities.<\/p>\n
City of Greater Geelong Mayor Trent Sullivan applauded the 2023 participants and expressed that the introduction session marked “the beginning of a terrific learning opportunity for community members.”<\/p>\n
“It’s great to see the emerging leaders who have made the decision to come on board and I trust it will be an opportunity for the participants to strengthen their leadership skills.”<\/p>\n
Deputy Mayor Anthony Aitken added that the interactive course would be a valuable experience for all participants.<\/p>\n
“This program will provide like-minded people an opportunity to learn more about managing relationships, community engagement and capacity building,” Aitken said.<\/p>\n
“Many of our participants are already making a difference in our community and this program will further support and encourage the development of skills to benefit many more residents across Greater Geelong.”<\/p>\n
The program will involve, nine full-day, face to face sessions on the second Wednesday of each month.<\/p>\n
A variety of venues will be used by the City to orchestrate the program, concluding with a celebratory graduation ceremony in November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
