Photo: FRANK O&#8217;ROURKE.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a nice part of the river, well-protected from the wind, good infrastructure good viewing facilities for spectators, and portage.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It had a great buzz about it, and it was certainly one of the highlights. Photo: FRANK O&#8217;ROURKE<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Championships started on Good Friday at Geelong Canoe Club and concluded on Easter Monday (April 10), featuring more than 300 athletes ranging from ages of eight to 70.<\/p>\n<p>Goldfields athlete Rebecca Mann was a standout performer in the women&#8217;s field, securing wins in each main event of the championships: the short course solo kayak, the long course solo kayak and the long course doubles event.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 571px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/04\/SUPs_65777.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"571\" height=\"378\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Stand-Up Paddle-boarders also made up a key portion of the races.
