{"id":71405,"date":"2023-05-05T04:10:52","date_gmt":"2023-05-04T18:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=71405"},"modified":"2023-05-04T11:19:36","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T01:19:36","slug":"community-banks-wishlist-proves-popular","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/living\/community-banks-wishlist-proves-popular\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Bank&#8217;s Wishlist proves popular"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Community Bank Surf Coast has been overwhelmed with the response to its recent 20th birthday celebration Wishlist grant program.<\/p>\n<p>The bank put up a $200,000 pool for community groups to request funding for their &#8220;wishlist&#8221; ideas, and more than 80 organisations have taken up the offer.<\/p>\n<p>The Anglesea Community House will have a new playhouse and interactive music area, the Aireys Inlet Junior Football Club have updated their training equipment and both the Lorne Independent newspaper and Anglesea and District Historical Society will receive a modernised IT system.<\/p>\n<p>They are just some of the many organisations that have received funding under the program.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_102474\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-102474\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-102474\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/IMG_4014_49399.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-102474\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lorne Community House Garden Group team leader Colin Leitch (second from left) and group members received a new garden chair and wicker beds.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Corangamite Financial Services owns and runs Community Bank Surf Coast and ahead of the 20th birthday being officially celebrated in November, the volunteer board thought the Wishlist program was a great way to thank the customers and community groups for the support they have given the Anglesea, Lorne and Winchelsea branches to grow to what they have become.<\/p>\n<p>Across the two decades, the bank will have returned close to $4 million to many different organisations in the region by the time November celebrations roll around.<\/p>\n<p>Applications have now closed for the grants, but you can follow the program on Facebook and Instagram to see if your group has been successful.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_102476\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-102476\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-102476\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/IMG_0991_49376.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-102476\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Anglesea Aireys Basketball Club got new equipment from the wishlist.
