ART of the Minds is bringing back its Her Story celebration of women and their stories following the inaugural sold-out event last year.<\/p>\n

To be held at Mt Duneed Estate, the day will be a fundraiser for Foundation 61’s residential rehabilitation facility for women in Mount Duneed.<\/p>\n

Elite para-athlete, dual Paralympian and bronze medallist, Love Me Love You manager\u202fand inclusion advocate Dr Hannah Macdougall will be the keynote speaker.<\/p>\n

Dr McDougall applies her experiences and evidence-based knowledge and seeks to connect with multiple communities through her humour and passion, walking her talk, and a genuine desire to help others achieve their potential.<\/p>\n

Vanessa Mollard helps professional women prevent and heal from burnout.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

As an elite athlete and working in the mental health sector for not-for-profit Love Me Love You, she aims to impart multiple life lessons to her listeners by providing tools and strategies to help her audience feel empowered and motivate them to take positive action today and into the future.<\/p>\n

Her Story attendees will hear from Vanessa Mollard, who was a multi-awarded scientist for 25 years in the field of malaria drug discovery, but is now helping professional women prevent and heal from burnout.<\/p>\n

Ms Mollard is a breathwork facilitator with the Alchemy of Breath, and hosted the Energised Empowered Professional Woman’s Summit where she interviewed 17 international experts in burnout.<\/p>\n

Her vision is that all women feel and know that they are loved for exactly who they are and who they want to be.<\/p>\n

Barwon Health senior peer worker Anette Hedberg will also speak at the event.<\/p>\n

Ms Hedberg uses her own life experiences with trauma, mental health, and substance abuse to support others who are struggling.<\/p>\n

She is a big believer that hope, validation, and empathy are all vital in recovery and in removing stigma around mental health.<\/p>\n

Organisers say women often face unique mental health challenges in different stages of their life, such as depression or dealing with anxiety as a professional or parent.<\/p>\n

“From healthy eating to regular exercise to annual checkups, taking care of our health and wellness is of utmost importance. Mental health is just as important as physical health, particularly as women typically juggle many roles and responsibilities.<\/p>\n

“Join us for this very special event that puts ‘her’ first and allows us into the word of three inspiring women through their stories.”<\/p>\n

Isabella Khalife, last year’s Surf Coast Song Contest Winner, is also coming along to play some tunes.<\/p>\n

Attendees will be welcomed with champagne on arrival and a grazing table in the vineyard room.<\/p>\n

Her Story will be held at Mt Duneed Estate on May 28 from 1-4pm.<\/p>\n
