{"id":77955,"date":"2023-07-06T04:55:53","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T18:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=77955"},"modified":"2023-07-05T12:08:23","modified_gmt":"2023-07-05T02:08:23","slug":"local-builders-dominate-construction-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/real-estate\/local-builders-dominate-construction-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Local builders dominate construction awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was a distinct local flavour to a regional construction awards ceremony at Geelong last month which saw a host of Surf Coast, Geelong and Bellarine projects scoop awards for their outstanding design and delivery.<\/p>\n<p>High-end custom homes, outstanding displays as local estates and commercial projects were all in the spotlight at Master Builders Victoria&#8217;s Regional Building Awards, Western Region hosted at The Pier.<\/p>\n<p>A recently completed short-stay accommodation home called Horizon at Separation Creek was among the big winners, claiming the Best Custom Home over $2 million.<\/p>\n<p>Horizon was also the flagship build for Ballarat-based firm BCM Homes, which was named Regional Residential Builder of the Year.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_108699\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108699\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-108699 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/BCM1_16518-2-600x380.jpg?_t=1688522304\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-108699\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Horizon by BCM Homes was named best custom home of more than $2 million.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The builder will now progress to the Victorian Excellence in Construction Awards on August 11.<\/p>\n<p>The region&#8217;s reputation as home to some of regional Victoria&#8217;s best custom builds was further solidified following multiple wins and commendations in those categories.<\/p>\n<p>Ocean Grove custom builder MJS Built won three prizes four outstanding projects; winning Best Custom Home in the $500,000-$600,000 category for an East Geelong home, the $600,000-$800,000 prize for a Connewarre residence and the $800,000-$1 million award for a Jan Juc build.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_108696\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108696\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-108696 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/MJSBuilt_16529-1-600x380.jpg?_t=1688522304\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-108696\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">MJS Built&#8217;s Jan Juc custom home.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The builder stated on social media it was &#8220;thrilled&#8221; with the results.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[We&#8217;re] incredibly grateful and thankful for our amazing team of trades, subbies, designers, and of course, our clients.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Geelong builder Enso Homes was close behind with a pair of wins in the $300,000-$400,000 category for a Highton project and a joint triumph in the $400,000-$500,000 at Point Lonsdale.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_108692\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108692\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-108692 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/EnsoCustom_16537-1-600x380.jpg?_t=1688522304\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-108692\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Enso Homes&#8217; winning Point Lonsdale project.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We worked closely with our amazing clients to deliver their vision and could not have achieved these outstanding outcomes without them,&#8221; Enso Homes stated.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Geelong Property Investments was named best custom build between $1 million-$2 million, while Derbyshire Homes (Barwon Heads project) and Larkin &amp; Drought Builders (Ocean Grove home) each received special commendations.<\/p>\n<p>Local housing displays also featured heavily at the Western Region awards.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_108691\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-108691\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-108691 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/07\/Cumberland266-01-1_33826-600x380.jpg?_t=1688522304\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-108691\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cumberland 266 from Hamlan Homes won two awards.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Geelong Homes&#8217; Riverside 246 design was named Best Display Home from $350,000-$500,000, while Hamlan Homes&#8217; Cumberland 266 at Fyansford project won the over $500,000 and Best Sutainable Home categories.<\/p>\n<p>Sherridon Homes had the best volume builder display of $250,000-$350,000 for its Clifton 27GE at Lara.<\/p>\n<p>Plan Group Geelong brought home a commercial construction award with its delivery of Metricon&#8217;s new offices at South Geelong, which houses its Studio M showrooms plus office space and front-of-house facilities.
