{"id":78052,"date":"2023-07-12T04:31:39","date_gmt":"2023-07-11T18:31:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=78052"},"modified":"2023-07-06T11:39:16","modified_gmt":"2023-07-06T01:39:16","slug":"headspace-corio-officially-opens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/headspace-corio-officially-opens\/","title":{"rendered":"headspace Corio officially opens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>HEADSPACE Corio has officially opened on Thursday last week, and the centre has seen a steady stream of young people seeking help come through the doors since the facility began operating on May 2.<\/p>\n<p>Stride Mental Health is running the centre with federal government funding through the Western Victoria Primary Health Network.<\/p>\n<p>Young people aged 12 to 25 can get access to information and services to support mental health, physical health (including sexual health) and alcohol and other drugs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By increasing access to high-quality services like headspace, we can help more young people in the Geelong region to develop the resilience and coping strategies necessary to manage their mental ill-health and maintain their wellbeing into the future,&#8221; Stride Mental Health chief executive officer Drikus van der Merwe said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Over the past year, 220 young people accessed services at headspace Geelong that will now have a closer centre available to them in Corio.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>headspace Corio, at 6\/10-16 Station Street, Norlane is open from Tuesday to Thursday from 9am-5pm.
