{"id":79471,"date":"2023-07-22T04:03:37","date_gmt":"2023-07-21T18:03:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=79471"},"modified":"2023-07-22T11:11:56","modified_gmt":"2023-07-22T01:11:56","slug":"frock-star-here-comes-priscilla","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/living\/frock-star-here-comes-priscilla\/","title":{"rendered":"Frock stars: Here comes Priscilla"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The budget Barbie camper is coming to town, with CentreStage announcing its September production will be <em>Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To be held at the Geelong Arts Centre, the adaptation of the hit 1994 film will be the first major musical presented at the venue since 2020.<\/p>\n<p><em>Priscilla<\/em> promises to be a feast for the senses, featuring the hit songs, original costumes from the Broadway production, magnificent large-scale sets, and the titular bus.<\/p>\n<p>The theatrical extravaganza will transport audiences to a world of glamour, comedy, and heartfelt moments that will leave them cheering for more.<\/p>\n<p>CentreStage&#8217;s musicial features an outstanding local cast and ab award-winning production team.<\/p>\n<p>Led by the talented Tick, played by Jules Hart, and the charismatic Adam, portrayed by Lochlan Erard, the cast brings their exceptional skills and energy to the stage.<\/p>\n<p>The incomparable Bernadette, portrayed by Mark Monroe, will tread the stage with grace and poignancy, while Bob, played by Rimon Abohaidar, adds his unique charm to the production.<\/p>\n<p>The role of Benji will be shared by the talented trio of Baxter Hyatt, Daniel Lim, and Eddie Finnigan.<\/p>\n<p><em>Priscilla<\/em> also boasts an ensemble of incredible performers who bring the divas to life. Tessa Reed, Dana Singer, and Kristen Wigg embody the divas, captivating the audience with their powerhouse voices and vibrant personalities. Shani Clarke shines as the enigmatic Mr Understanding, while Cath Hughey portrays the lovable Marion.<\/p>\n<p>Shari Phillips takes on the role of Shirley, adding her own touch of humour to the show.
