THE Geelong sporting community is set to benefit from the completion of $393,00 infrastructure and equipment upgrades at Highton’s Tim Hill Reserve.<\/p>\n
The City of Greater Geelong’s project has delivered fully automated field-wide irrigation, a rotunda, new synthetic cricket wicket, AFL wicket cover and AFL goal posts to the popular local site.<\/p>\n
A new eastern fence line and boundary barriers along Wandana Drive, new storage areas and the realignment of the field of play to maximise field size are other aspects of the project.<\/p>\n
Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said the city was proud to have fully funded the Tim Hill Reserve upgrade.<\/p>\n
“The project will be of significant benefit to the residents of the region, including tenant clubs.<\/p>\n
“I’m sure it’s a much more enjoyable experience playing cricket, football or tennis here now with the recent improvements.”<\/p>\n
Councillor Ron Nelson said the Tim Hill Reserve upgrades would allow the facilities to remain well-utilised.<\/p>\n
“Wandana Heights residents deserve access to a high-quality playing surface that’s well graded and well maintained.<\/p>\n
