{"id":81730,"date":"2023-08-24T13:02:54","date_gmt":"2023-08-24T03:02:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/chamber-celebrates-award-finalists\/"},"modified":"2023-08-24T13:06:22","modified_gmt":"2023-08-24T03:06:22","slug":"chamber-celebrates-award-finalists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/chamber-celebrates-award-finalists\/","title":{"rendered":"Chamber celebrates award finalists"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE finalists for this year&#8217;s Geelong Business Excellence Awards have been revealed, and some of them celebrated their selection at last week&#8217;s Geelong Chamber of Commerce After 5 event.<\/p>\n<p>More than 220 people attended the networking event, held at Truffleduck and sponsored by LBW Business + Wealth Advisors.<\/p>\n<p>Guests heard from Matthew Grapsas, principal at LBW, on how the company supported local businesses and why it was the major sponsor of the awards.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For us, it&#8217;s about making the complex simple &#8211; trying to make things as simple as possible, because there&#8217;s so much going on in our space at times,&#8221; Mr Grapsas said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_113906\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-113906\" style=\"width: 597px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-113906\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/08\/GetMoreTime_28363-1.jpg?_t=1692846032\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"316\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-113906\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Matthew Smith (Geelong Small Business Network), Justine Martin (Jutz Arts &amp; Resilience Method), Les Watson (Get More Time) and Christine Smith (Great Ocean Stays).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;[The awards] bring all these great firms together and culiminate in a great night, and allow them to show their best.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>LBW is one of Geelong&#8217;s largest locally-owned public accounting practices.
