{"id":82350,"date":"2023-09-03T09:12:23","date_gmt":"2023-09-02T23:12:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=82350"},"modified":"2023-09-03T11:17:17","modified_gmt":"2023-09-03T01:17:17","slug":"100-gamer-leads-swans-to-finals-win-over-colac","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/sport\/100-gamer-leads-swans-to-finals-win-over-colac\/","title":{"rendered":"100-gamer leads Swans to finals win over Colac"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">SOUTH Barwon Football Club is into the Second Qualifying Final of the Geelong Football League (GFL) Finals Series for the first time since 2013 after defeating Colac (Saturday, September 2) yesterday afternoon at West Oval, 8.18.66 to 16.12.108.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">It was the second time in as many weeks the Swans have defeated the Tigers, and the third of three times Mark Neeld\u2019s South Barwon side has gotten the better of Colac in 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The GFL\u2019s First Qualifying Final began evenly, with the two sides splitting the first six goals of the contest, South Barwon taking a narrow 19-23 lead at the opening break.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Swans outkicked the Tigers three goals to one in a relatively quiet second term, but the 30-43 buffer was all South Barwon needed to motivate itself in the second half.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_82351\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-82351\" style=\"width: 721px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-82351 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/061A4281A-scaled.jpg?_t=1693696009\" alt=\"\" width=\"721\" height=\"481\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/061A4281A-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/061A4281A-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/061A4281A-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/061A4281A-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/061A4281A-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/061A4281A-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2023\/09\/061A4281A-272x182.jpg 272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 721px) 100vw, 721px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-82351\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Swans forward Andrew Boseley kicked two goals in the Swans win.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">South Barwon exploded for six goals in the third term to build a 26-point lead heading into the final break, leading 55-81, while wayward kicking continued to plague Colac\u2019s comeback efforts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">The Swans put the cherry on top of a four-quarter performance at the defensive end, limiting the Tigers to one goal in the final term, while adding four more of its own to convincingly topple Colac by 42 points.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Jonty Broughton nabbed a game-high four goals in his 100<sup>th<\/sup> game for South Barwon, while Jack Driver added three majors.
