THE Geelong United Supercats have locked in one of its home-grown talents for two more years as she embarks on her first international stint professionally.<\/p>\n
Supercats forward Eve Braslis has inked a two-year deal with her home club ahead of her first European season with Icelandic Premier League club Grindavik.<\/p>\n
At just 23, Braslis is fresh off an impressive 2023 campaign, posting averages of 17.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game from 58.1 per cent shooting.<\/p>\n
Braslis said the prospect of another NBL1 South championship push spurred on her decision to re-join the Supercats.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really enjoyed this last season, and I love being able to play in front of our home crowd, it\u2019s the best crowd in the NBL1 South.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love the small town feel, in that I see people on a Tuesday night at community level, or I see them when they come into work.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really forward to what season 2024 holds for Geelong United.\u201d<\/p>\n
Braslis was a standout in the GUB Community Competition with Pivot City in 2023 and will re-join Geelong United following a European winter in Iceland.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was looking for somewhere to play in the offseason, and I\u2019ve always wanted to play in Europe,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m really looking forward to living in a new country and being able to explore the world while continuing my basketball career.<\/p>\n
