AIREYS Inlet has been judged the nation’s second-best Tiny Tourism Town in this year’s Australian Top Tourism Town Awards, announced last week.<\/p>\n

Presented by the Australian Tourism Industry Council (ATIC), the annual awards showcase the best of the best across Australia\u2019s regional tourism destinations.<\/p>\n

The Tiny Tourism Town category is for Australian towns with a population under 1,500 people that offer amazing visitor experiences and are committed to increasing visitation to their region, with contenders for the national award chosen from the gold winners in each state and territory.<\/p>\n

ATIC describes Aireys Inlet as an “intimate seaside hamlet ‘hidden in clear view’ on the world-renowned Great Ocean Road. Nestled between the drama of Victoria’s Surf Coast and the majesty of the Great Otway National Park Airey’s Inlet is committed to its natural ‘ocean meets bush’ lifestyle”.<\/p>\n

Visitors can “explore earthy adventures with an array of outdoor pursuits and iconic coastal landscapes to discover. Locals and visitors alike treasure the untouched natural surrounds and celebrate a wealth of locally produced artisan food and beverage experiences”.<\/p>\n

Aireys Inlet Tourism & Traders Association vice-president Melissa McDonald accepted the award on behalf of Aireys Inlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis recognition is a testament to the unwavering commitment and dedication of our community to create a unique and unforgettable experience for all who visit our beautiful coastal town,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I would like to extend our appreciation to the Surf Coast Shire for their assistance in preparing and submitting our award application.<\/p>\n

“Additionally, we are immensely grateful to Great Ocean Road Regional Tourism for their support and collaboration.<\/p>\n

“Their partnership has been instrumental in promoting our region and showcasing the magic of Aireys Inlet to travellers from near and far.”<\/p>\n

She said the award belonged to “the entire Aireys Inlet community”, including local businesses and residents as well as visitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe invite travellers to come and experience the beauty, warmth, and hospitality that define Aireys Inlet. We look forward to welcoming you to our coastal paradise.<\/p>\n

“This recognition is not only a source of pride for the residents of Aireys Inlet but also an invitation to travellers from around the world to experience the town’s unique charm.”<\/p>\n

Surf Coast Shire mayor Liz Pattison said she was immensely proud of Aireys Inlet’s achievement.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s a treasured spot along the Great Ocean Road.<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to Aireys Inlet on this honour.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a wonderful town for a getaway at any time of year, offering beautiful coastal walks, fantastic food, central accommodation and stunning views, particularly from the Split Point Lighthouse.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dwellingup in Western Australia won this year’s gold award for Tiny Tourism Town.<\/p>\n
