MORE than 20 groups from from Armstrong Creek and surrounding areas have benefited from the latest round of the Ashbury Community Fund.<\/p>\n

An annual initiative of Dennis Family Corporation – the developer of Ashbury estate – the fund marked its sixth year in 2023 and more than $140,000 distributed to local community groups since its inception.<\/p>\n

Dennis Family Corporation developments marketing manager Melissa Munro said she could not have been more delighted with the outcome.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past six years, we\u2019ve allocated funding to assist a wide range of special activities and community programs in and around Armstrong Creek. It\u2019s been fantastic for us to be able to support so many worthy organisations operating in the local area where our development is located, and help people bring so many great projects to light,\u201c she said.<\/p>\n

This year also marks the 21st year of the Dennis Family Corporation successfully operating Community Funds across its residential developments across Victoria and South East Queensland.<\/p>\n

During this time, the corporation has distributed more than $1 million in grants to date and provided much-needed financial support to hundreds of local not-for-profit groups and organisations.<\/p>\n

Eligibility for the $1,500 grants extended to not-for-profit groups operating in and around Armstrong Creek, with an independent judging panel awarding grants to a variety of organisations.<\/p>\n

These included the Type 1 Foundation\u2019s Ange Liston-McCaughley, who was thrilled to receive a $1,500 grant on behalf of the organisation at the presentation ceremony held last week.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs anyone with Type 1 diabetes knows, receiving an initial diagnoses of the condition is often confronting and the challenges of learning how to live with it can impact the entire family \u2013 especially where children are concerned,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe established the foundation specifically to assist families of children living with Type 1 diabetes and help them not just to survive but thrive.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re always on the lookout for opportunities to do this.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe grant will go towards our upcoming networking event connecting families of newly diagnosed children with one another for advice and emotional support, and we can\u2019t thank the Dennis Family Corporation enough for helping us make this a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n
