GEELONG’s Johnstone Park will be lit up this festive season with special Christmas trees designed by students from 30 different local schools.<\/p>\n

The popular annual school Christmas tree display will see students vibrantly showcase their works in the central Geelong forecourt from November 13, 2023, to January 7, 2024.<\/p>\n

In an exciting addition this year, QR codes will invite visitors to cast their votes for their favourite tree, with the winning school walking away with a $500 voucher from a list of nominated businesses.<\/p>\n

The prize can be put towards the school’s gardening, art or sports initiatives.<\/p>\n

Mayor Trent Sullivan expressed his excitement for the return of the school Christmas tree extravaganza.<\/p>\n

“The school Christmas tree display is a testament to schools’ and students’ creativity.<\/p>\n

“I always admire the unique interpretations of Christmas by each school. When you stroll through the Christmas tree display, you’ll witness the dedication and love that students and teachers put into their trees.<\/p>\n

“I encourage everyone to explore the school Christmas trees in the Johnstone Park forecourt and use the QR code to vote for your favorite tree.”<\/p>\n

Deputy mayor Anthony Aitken emphasised the importance of Christmas in Geelong.<\/p>\n

“Christmas is a cherished time of the year in Geelong for many. It brings together families and visitors from near and far to partake in the region’s festive activities,” Deputy Mayor Aitken said.<\/p>\n

“Our aim is to create unforgettable memories for families and young ones.<\/p>\n

“I encourage you to explore the various family-friendly activities and events, including the now well-loved and supported school Christmas tree display in Johnstone Park.”<\/p>\n
