A dedicated McGrath Foundation supporter has reached Geelong as part of a 1,000-kilometre walk from Melbourne to Sydney to raise money for breast care nurses.<\/p>\n
Prabodh Malhotra, 72, began his trek at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 29 October and has since passed through Mt Martha, Sorrento, Queenscliff, and now Geelong.<\/p>\n
His goal is to arrive at the Sydney Cricket Ground by the first day of the Pink Test on 3 January 2024.<\/p>\n
During his stopover in Kardinia Park, Prabodh shared his enthusiasm for the McGrath Foundation and expressed his joy at being able to contribute to their work.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have been living in Melbourne for more than 40 years. This country has given me a beautiful life, and now it is my turn to give something back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Prabodh’s journey through cities including Ballarat and Bendigo highlights the foundation’s impact on local communities.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am so pleased to have this opportunity to make a small contribution to such a noble cause,\u201d he reiterated.<\/p>\n
McGrath Foundation Ambassador & Director Tracy Bevan offered her best wishes to Prabodh.<\/p>\n
\u201cPrabodh\u2019s journey is not just a gesture of solidarity but also a powerful call to action to support those affected by breast cancer,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Ms Bevan commended Prabodh\u2019s determination in undertaking the Melbourne to Sydney walk for the second consecutive year, aiming to raise $100,000.<\/p>\n
\u201cGenerous support from an everyday Australian like Prabodh is always special, but him choosing to do something so extraordinary is truly incredible,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis fundraising efforts will bring us closer to ensuring no one goes without the care of a breast care nurse, and for that, we are extremely grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n
