A DOG from Armstrong Creek has won the people’s choice award in next year’s Canines of Corangamite calendar.<\/p>\n
The picture of Maisie, a seven-year-old kelpie, jumping for a ball in the Otway Ranges National Park will be featured on the page for April in the 2024 calendar being produced by Corangamite federal member Libby Coker.<\/p>\n
Masie’s owner Ethan Cook, a teacher at Nelson Park School in Geelong, said Maisie was used to performing in front of the camera.<\/p>\n
“As I work as a media arts teacher for special needs students, she often features in lots of the kids’ short films and adores working with them.”<\/p>\n
He said the whole family would celebrate the win by taking Maisie to her favourite picnic spot near Point Impossible.<\/p>\n
Mr Cook and his family will receive a $100 voucher to spend at The Salty Dog Caf\u00e9, Torquay.<\/p>\n
Ms Coker said her office had received a huge response of talented and gorgeous dogs for the Canines of Corangamite calendar, with more than 200 entries submitted.<\/p>\n
She said she wanted the calendar to celebrate the bond people have with their four-legged friends and the extraordinary moments that can happen in our own backyard.<\/p>\n
