Imagine a career where you get to help others feel beautiful and confident while working in an ever-evolving industry.<\/p>\n<p>The Gordon&#8217;s Certificate III in Barbering students recently participated in a barbering pop-up event with MatchWorks, gaining real-world experience and an opportunity to give back to the community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Matchworks is delighted to highlight our collaboration with The Gordon TAFE in 2023 through the &#8216;Free Haircuts Day&#8217; initiative delivered at four Matchworks locations within the Geelong region this year,&#8221; MatchWorks employer engagement partner Brendan Chandler said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_122389\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-122389\" style=\"width: 601px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-122389 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/Seancuttingclientsha_50319.jpg?_t=1701258107\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"481\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-122389\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sean Williamson tries out his barbering skills. Photos: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;The active participation of students, guided by Gordon TAFE Trainer Ben Pratt, has been instrumental in the program&#8217;s success, enhancing the experience of our participants with disabilities as they re-enter the workforce.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Sean Williamson, a Gordon barbering student, said: &#8220;Studying to be a barber has been a great experience. The best part is learning the skills, especially the scissor work. The experience with Matchworks is a win-win!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A lot of people come out really enjoying it and loving the experience.
