THE Geelong & District Football Netball League (GDFNL) has released its 2024 fixture just two months after Inverleigh and Werribee Centrals were crowned 2023 premiers.<\/p>\n

2024 will begin on April 6 with Anakie to take on Bannockburn, Thomson hosting Winchelsea, Corio playing Werribee Centrals, Belmont to clash with Inverleigh, East Geelong to square off with Bell Post Hill, and Geelong West to open their season against North Geelong.<\/p>\n

Inverleigh will unfurl its 31-year drought-breaking GDFL flag in Round 3 when it first plays at home at Inverleigh Reserve against East Geelong.<\/p>\n

Werribee Centrals will also need to wait at least a week until it can reveal its newest netball flag, hosting Geelong West at Galvin Park in Round 2.<\/p>\n

Grand Final rematches will occur in Rounds 5 (Inverleigh v Thomson \u2013 football), 10 (Werribee Centrals v East Geelong \u2013 netball), 15 (Thomson v Inverleigh \u2013 football).<\/p>\n

The competition’s traditional games information has also been revealed.<\/p>\n

The Anzac Day clash between Inverleigh and Bannockburn will be held as a standalone fixture on April 25 in Inverleigh. Bannockburn hosted the annual clash in 2023.<\/p>\n

Belmont’s annual NAIDOC Week game at Winter Reserve will be held six days after the annual week of celebrations conclude, selecting Geelong West as this year’s opponent after facing Anakie earlier this year.<\/p>\n

A split round will also be observed in Round 13 with games held across July 6 and July 13, and a bye week will only take place following Round 9.<\/p>\n
