One of the world’s most well-renowned photography exhibitions is making its return to Geelong’s National Wool Museum to showcase the natural world’s most astonishing sights.<\/p>\n

Launching today (December 8), the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is the most prestigious photography event of its kind.<\/p>\n

The competition annually attracts over 50,000 entries from all over the world.<\/p>\n

Greater Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan urged residents to view the spectacular photography event this festive season.<\/p>\n

“Wildlife Photographer of the Year is an exhibition of international significance, showcasing one-hundred breathtaking images from around the world,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Geelong and the National Wool Museum are the only Victorian venue to see this world-class exhibition; I encourage residents to take the opportunity to witness it for themselves.”<\/p>\n

Chair of the Creativity and Culture portfolio, Cr Melissa Cadwell said she was confident of a strong turnout.<\/p>\n

“Entries for this competition have come from 95 different countries across the world,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It speaks to the significance of our museum that an exhibition that has been on display in London, Canada, Belgium, France, Germany, New Zealand and Singapore is coming to Geelong.”<\/p>\n

National Wool Museum director, Padraic Fisher said the exhibition is “right up there with the best.”<\/p>\n

“Along with an exciting schedule of activities, tours and learning programs Wildlife Photographer of the Year features alongside the playful, immersive and interactive installation WaVE\/WeaVE by the Slow Art Collective,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Please come along and visit the museum this summer, there truly is something for everyone.”<\/p>\n

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is on loan from the Natural History Museum London until 19 May, 2024.<\/p>\n
