GEELONG’s Resource Recovery Centre (RRC) will soon stop accepting garden organics, soil and rubble to allow part of the facility to close for upgrades.<\/p>\n
The works, which kick off in February, will improve the capacity and traffic flow to make it easier for customers to drop items for recycling and disposal.<\/p>\n
Deputy mayor Anthony Aitken said thousands of people head to use the facility each week.<\/p>\n
“These works will make it easier and safer for visitors to dispose of their waste and recycling,” he said.<\/p>\n
“It’s wonderful to see how many in our community use our Resource Recovery Centres and are willing to help protect the environment by doing the right thing with their waste.”<\/p>\n
The works are slated to be completed by mid-year.<\/p>\n
During the upgrade period, visitors can drop off garden organics, soil and rubble to Green Care Mulching at 72-80 Buckley Grove in Moolap and Drysdale Resource Recovery Centre on Becks Rd in Drysdale.<\/p>\n
Geelong RRC will continue to accept old electronics, whitegoods and clean cardboard during the upgrade period.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
