{"id":90339,"date":"2024-02-07T04:00:53","date_gmt":"2024-02-06T17:00:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/?p=90339"},"modified":"2024-01-31T15:29:40","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T04:29:40","slug":"jobfind-help-to-steer-l2p-program-into-15th-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/geelongtimes\/news\/jobfind-help-to-steer-l2p-program-into-15th-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Jobfind help to steer L2P program into 15th year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GEELONG employment service Jobfind has sponsored a fleet vehicle to help deliver the 15th year of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) L2P Program in Geelong.<\/p>\n<p>The L2P program provides drivers aged 16 to 21 who have limited driving access, the opportunity to undertake supervised driving lessons with fully licensed volunteer mentors.<\/p>\n<p>Learners also have the benefit of access to free driving lessons with a professional instructor to build their skills before embarking on supervised driving sessions with volunteer mentors.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 186 learner drivers participated in the sessions in 2023, with 65 graduating from the program with their probationary license.<\/p>\n<p>Jobfind regional manager Joe Abdo said their organisation was thrilled to be supporting the safe driving program.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jobfind understands the value of having a driver&#8217;s license as it opens up greater employment opportunities,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>City of Greater Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said he supported the program.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The supervised driving sessions are instrumental in helping young people gain the necessary driving experience required for a probationary license,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is also a rewarding opportunity for volunteer mentors to connect with young people in their community and support them in becoming safe drivers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To be considered for the TAC L2P Program, both learner drivers and potential volunteer mentors are required to complete an application form and undergo an assessment.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the L2P page on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vicroads.vic.gov.au\/licences\/your-ps\/get-your-ps\/preparing-for-your-licence-test\/l2p-learner-driver-mentor-program\">VicRoads<\/a> website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GEELONG employment service Jobfind has sponsored a fleet vehicle to help deliver the 15th year of the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) L2P Program in Geelong.
