MORE than 30 projects will share in $2,674,090 worth of Community Infrastructure and Geelong Heritage Grants from the City of Greater Geelong.<\/p>\n

The grants will help upgrade and construct new facilities, renew infrastructure, increase programs and improve how spaces function across the community.<\/p>\n

The scheme features 19 capital works projects, including upgrades to the Geelong Ballroom Dance Club’s Kendall room, installation of LED flood lighting at Hurst Reserve, and a raised undercover deck at Lara Swimming Club.<\/p>\n

The Drysdale Football Club and Geelong Rangers Soccer Club were among the eight projects to secure Community Infrastructure funding.<\/p>\n

The Manifold Heights house, Christ Church Anglican Parish Geelong, Matthew Flinders Secondary College and a Drumcondra residence all shared in $90,000 in four separate Geelong Heritage grants.<\/p>\n

Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan congratulated the 31 recipients on their successful applications.<\/p>\n

“Council thanks the successful applicants for making a positive difference in our region by offering social connection and encouraging physical activity,” Cr Sullivan said.<\/p>\n

“We are thrilled to be able to support these important community groups with more than $2.7 million to improve facilities, celebrate heritage and increase participation.<\/p>\n

“Together, we are creating a happier and more resilient region.”<\/p>\n
