PEACE Of Mind Foundation have launched their fundraiser for 2024, Bake Off For Brain Cancer.<\/p>\n

The Geelong-based organisation is a national brain cancer support charity, assisting more than 800 families, including adults and children.<\/p>\n

Peace Of Mind Foundation chief executive officer and founder Rebecca Mallett said anybody could be involved in the fundraiser, regardless of age or cooking ability.<\/p>\n

“We designed it because we wanted to create a fundraising campaign that the whole community could get engaged in.<\/p>\n

“We wanted something that was fun and that we felt most people would want to take part in.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Participants can pick their own date and are encouraged to get their family, friends, workplace or sports groups together and host a morning or afternoon tea.<\/p>\n

When signing up, hosts are given their own fundraising page that they can share on social media and ask anyone to donate.<\/p>\n

Ms Mallett said this initiative allows a wide range of people to get involved and come together to enjoy eating good food.<\/p>\n

The charity relies solely on donations from fundraisers to be able to provide support for those diagnosed with the disease and their families.<\/p>\n

All ages and cooking abilities are encouraged to participate in the bake off.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

Money raised from the bake off will fund all the foundation’s programs and services.<\/p>\n

“We are one of the only support charities in the country specifically helping people with brain cancer, so the funds are desperately needed,” Ms Mallett said.<\/p>\n

“Brain cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in people under the age of 40 and takes the lives of more children in Australia than any other disease.”<\/p>\n

The campaign starts now and will run until the end of the year.<\/p>\n
