THE state government has announced the Small Regional Presenters Program grant recipients for this year.<\/p>\n
Minister for Creative Industries Colin Brooks revealed funding for 15 groups that will activate community halls, mechanics institutes, and theatres throughout regional Victoria.<\/p>\n
“Small Regional Presenters supports small events that make a big impact,” Mr Brooks said.<\/p>\n
“They bring communities together, boost local economies and ensure regional Victorians can enjoy wonderful creative experiences.”<\/p>\n
The 2024 recipients include Music at the Basilica in Geelong, which has been granted $5,500 to present two concerts by the Australian Chamber Choir in St Mary’s Basilica, and The Sound Doctor Presents Inc in Anglesea, receiving $15,000 to bring live contemporary music to Anglesea’s Memorial Hall over four weekends this year.<\/p>\n
This initiative is part of the state government’s Small Regional Presenters program, aimed at supporting community groups and not-for-profit organisations to bring cultural events to their locales, facilitated by Regional Arts Victoria.<\/p>\n
Regional Arts Victoria chief executive officer Jo Porter praised the effort of the volunteers.<\/p>\n
“Many small presenters are the incredible volunteers whose energy makes small towns so special,” Ms Porter said.<\/p>\n
“They have lined up a lot of fun for audiences across Victoria, with a wide range of locations and artforms represented among the successful applicants – make sure you look out for what’s on in your local hall.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
