GEELONG Mums biggest annual fundraising event will return next month, raising much-needed funds in support of vulnerable babies and children across Victoria.<\/p>\n

The organisation\u2019s beloved Mother\u2019s Day Lunch will take place on Friday, May 10 at the Mt Duneed Estate, bringing together local mums, advocates and leading businesswomen.<\/p>\n

The charity, which has been operating for more than 10 years, works to provide essential items to families in need with the aim of ensuring every child has access to a safe and nurturing environment.<\/p>\n

Working with a network of social workers and maternal and child health nurses, Geelong Mums re-homes preloved items such as prams, car seats, cots and clothing which have been donated by the community.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Last year alone, more than 21,000 babies and children were supported by the organisation.<\/p>\n

Geelong Mums chief executive Ruth Holdaway said the organisation was a \u201ccommunity that finds joy in everything [it] does\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur Mother\u2019s Day Lunches are no exception.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis fantastic celebration is all about having a great time with friends, colleagues, and lots of wonderful mums and taking just one day to help the families in our state that are doing it tough.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Mother\u2019s Day Lunch will be hosted by television presenter and sports commentator, Brihony Dawson, and live entertainment will be provided by Dawson\u2019s band, Midnight Mix.<\/p>\n

Guests will be treated to a three-course meal and a selection of drinks, including still and sparkling wines from Mt Duneed Estate.<\/p>\n

Ms Holdaway encouraged everyone to support the organisation and attend the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cost of living continues to bite hard, and we can clearly see an increase in requests for our help,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven the basic everyday essentials \u2013 such as nappies, formula and clothing are constantly in demand.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge everyone to consider buying a ticket to the Mother\u2019s Day Lunch because your support helps us achieve our vision to share more, waste less, and ensure that every child in Victoria thrives.\u201d<\/p>\n
