GEELONG’S commitment to beating dementia was evident on Sunday as more than 840 resident ran, jogged, or walked along the city’s waterfront.<\/p>\n

This year’s 2024 Geelong Memory Walk & Jog raised over $140,000 as part of the 2024 event, with all funds going to programs and research conducted and supported by Dementia Australia.<\/p>\n

Dementia Australia chief operating officer Anthony Boffa extended his gratitude to all who attended the weekend’s event, those who contributed by donating, and volunteers who dedicated their weekend’s to facilitating the event.<\/p>\n

“There was an outstanding show of support from the Geelong community who turned out in such large numbers for another year,” Mr Boffa said.<\/p>\n

“So many people impacted by dementia find these events a great way to connect with others in similar circumstances. It is such an important day, and your support means the world.<\/p>\n

“It is only through the hard work of our wonderful volunteers that the success of this event is possible.”<\/p>\n

The Geelong event is one of the 22 scheduled Memory Walk & Jogs taking place across Australia in 2024.<\/p>\n

Mr Boffa encouraged anyone eager to contribute to the Memory Walk & Jog elsewhere to find the details of the remaining events at www.memorywalk.com.au.<\/p>\n

Geelong’s event on Sunday was just one of 22 Memory Walk & Jog events taking place across the country.<\/p>\n
