Gardner Home is built to the new NCC standards.<\/p>\n<p>The updated National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 requirements came into effect on May 1 this year and all builders are now obligated to adhere to these new requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The Code covers new mandatory requirements for liveable housing, energy efficiency, and condensation management, and will make homes more sustainable, accessible, and cost effective to run.<\/p>\n<p>G.J. Gardner Homes Geelong has spent the past year incorporating all of the new NCC requirements across their range of designs. Gardner Homes journey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Liveable housing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Liveable Housing Design Standard includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Entrance to the dwelling to be step-free with a minimum clear opening width of 820mm<\/li>\n<li>Minimum landing sizes at the dwelling entrance<\/li>\n<li>Internal doors at entrance level to have a minimum clear width of 820mm<\/li>\n<li>Corridor widths to be minimum 1000mm<\/li>\n<li>One shower to be step-free<\/li>\n<li>One toilet to be located on entrance level<\/li>\n<li>Reinforcing to shower, bath, and toilet walls so grab rails can be readily fitted in the future, and<\/li>\n<li>Minimum circulation sizes for shower and toilet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Condensation management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Modern homes are more airtight and more susceptible to condensation, which can cause significant heal<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>th risks, such as mould. It can also impact the durability of materials within your home.
